In NEURO-DISNIE, Bob van Dijk leaves behind the traditional outline that defines most comic characters. Instead, colour, rhythm and gesture become the building blocks of a visual language situated somewhere between painting, comics and abstraction.
By transforming familiar comic imagery into expressive compositions, Van Dijk creates works that move between recognition and abstraction.
The series received international attention through a feature by Steven Heller in The Daily Heller, highlighting the work as a distinctive contribution to contemporary visual culture.
NEURO-DISNIE invites viewers to experience comics beyond their traditional boundaries, where representation gives way to colour, movement and imagination.
